Deep-Rooted History Oct. 11

Friday, October 11, is an event day with a historical theme as we concentrate on the history of the City Hall, celebrate the National Week of Elder People and dance upon the boulevard of memories to the music of the Teemu Roivainen ja Energia band! On Friday, you may explore the City Hall during the Open House and participate in City Hall Tours.

Every Day is a Celebration

Activities of the National Week of Elder People are organized at City Hall with the theme “Every Day is a Celebration”. There will be music performances, a discussion panel and speeches. You may participate in the activities at the City Hall or by following a live broadcast on our website.

Life at the City Hall from the 60s to this Day

On the opening week's Friday, a lecture is held at the City Hall. Oulun kaupungintalon elämää 1960-luvulta lähtien - kasvu kartanpiirtäjästä insinööriksi kaupungintalon kuhinassa (fin. Life at the Oulu City Hall since the 1960s - from a mapmaker to an engineer in the buzz of the City Hall). Oulu-Seura ry.'s lecture will be held by Engineer Terttu Välikangas and communications and culture specialist Tea Stolt de Glanville, FRSA.

Entry to the lecture is free of charge.

On Friday evening, you may dance to your heart’s content when the Teemu Roivainen and Energia band leads the citizens of Oulu down the boulevard of memories in the City Hall’s banquet hall! 

The ticket sale will open in August.
