Day of the Children Oct. 7

The Day of the Children will be celebrated on Monday, October 7. Children from the Oulu region’s daycare centres, preschools and primary schools get to visit the City Hall on Monday. 

In the evening, the City Council assembles in the City Hall. Before the Council Meeting, the new exhibition spaces of the City Hall are opened!

City Hall Tour

Throughout the event day, children get to tour the City Hall by visiting different activity stations. In the activities, the children get to think about friendship, dream, take friendship photos and relax. The children get to enjoy sweets with the candy buffet!

Children’s Session

During the Children’s Session, primary school children get to discuss matters that interest them with the city of Oulu’s decision-makers. The children get to present questions to the decision-makers and the Session is streamed live online.

Soiva Siili Performance

The Day of the Children culminates in the Soiva Siili group’s performance Hannun eläinlapset (fin. Hannu’s Animal Children). Hannun eläinlapset is a musical picture exhibition that promotes the development of children’s view of the nature by presenting Hannu Hautala’s fantastic nature photos.
