Digital Makerspace

Digital Makerspace in the Pekuri Library

Familiarize yourself with new technology and small-scale digital manufacturing at the Digital Makerspace with the help of the library’s Digital Handymen. There are customer computers, digitizers and a microfilm scanner at the Digital Makerspace. The devices can be booked in the city of Oulu’s reservation service Varaamo. Digital Handymen will guide you with using the equipment.

You can utilize different devices at the Digital Makerspace stations. For example, you can create a digital image at the media workstation which can be imprinted onto a T-shirt with a vinyl cutter and heat press. You can also create spare parts by 3D scanning and 3D printing.

If you are using the Digital Makerspace equipment for the first time, please book a half-hour guidance reservation with a Digital Handyman. Book the reservation to start at the same time as your device reservation.

Using the equipment is free of charge, but the Library will charge the cost price of the materials needed to use the devices. You cannot use your own materials with the devices to ensure guidance and the functionality of the equipment.
