Oulu’s Coat of Arms

The use of the city of Oulu’s coat of arms is subject to license. Always ensure that you have the correct right of use. The use of the city’s coat of arms is supervised and guided by the Communications Director. See the Communications Unit’s contact information. 

The coat of arms is usually used according to the confirmed picture by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on February 11, 1954. 

“On a red background, a castle adorned with blue gates and window openings and four domed towers rising from the silver base; on the base a blue and red salmon.” (City Board, November 24, 1953) 

The coat of arms was designed by Martti Heikura.
