The City's Responsibilities

The City of Oulu Urban and Environmental Services is responsible for the planning, construction and maintenance of the public area stormwater management systems.  The Urban Environmental Committee supervises the stormwater management and approves any plans and regulations regarding them. Many city units take part in managing stormwater. Units involved include the Strategic Land Use Planning team, the Streets and Traffic team, Oulu Waterworks, Building Supervision, Oulu Infra Public Utility and the Environmental Office of the Oulu Region.

Oulu Waterworks assigns a connecting point to the property joining the stormwater network. Instructions on how to order a connection statement (in Finnish).
