Oulu Sport Services organizes exercise clubs for children and families throughout the year together with partners.
Clubs
Skiing Courses
The Sport Services organizes family skiing courses and adult skiing technique courses by the Raksila Baseball Stadium annually. Details can be found in the Finnish site.
Information on the skiing courses
The skiing courses are free of charge (one meeting per week)
Temperature limit: –15 degrees Celsius (the activity will not be organized if the temperature is less than –15 degrees Celsius)
Skis and ski boots can be rented on the spot (sizes 28–47)
Ski sleds for the physically disabled can also be rented. Please contact the number 044 703 8062 beforehand if you need ski sleds.
Skating Courses
The Sport Services organizes skating courses annually. Details can be found in the Finnish site.
The skating courses are free of charge. There is no need to register for the courses, you can join at any time on a rink near you. Welcome!
General instructions
The skating courses are directed to children between the ages 3-12
The skating courses are free of charge, there is no need to register beforehand
Basic skating skills are taught during the courses, no hockey sticks
Helmets are mandatory (cycling helmets are accepted)
Temperature limit: -20 Celsius (the activity will not be organized if the temperature is less than –20 degrees Celsius)
The instructor will visit the rink to inform everyone if the activity is cancelled due to weather

Perhekuperkeikka Clubs
Fun activities for children, the use of toys and exercise equipment under guardians’ supervision. There is no need to register for the Perhekuperkeikka clubs. Do not attend when you are ill. Welcome! Details can be found in the Finnish site.
Lapanen Family Exercise Clubs
You are welcome to join the free of charge Lapanen family exercise clubs! The aim of the clubs is to promote well-being of children and families with sports.
There is no need to register beforehand for the clubs. Please do not attend the clubs if you are ill for the sake of other club attendants.
Baby Exercise Club Mon 9.00-10.15 (children who cannot walk yet)
Värttö Exercise Hall (mirror hall)
About 30 minutes of simple exercise for guardians and babies. During the clubs, the exercises train the guardian’s body and stretch their muscles and activate the baby’s senses and support the baby’s development. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a large towel or a blanket for your baby.
Toddler Exercise Club Mon 10.15.-11 (children who can walk)
Värttö Exercise Hall (mirror hall)
The clubs are meant for children and adults. The club is an interactive moment between the adult and the child. Activities include rhymes, songs, and tricks. They last for about 30 minutes. Wear comfortable clothes.

Vikkelät vekarat Clubs
Vikkelät vekarat Club is an exercise club supporting children’s exercise organized by Oulu’s Sport Services.
The club is meant for children between the ages 5–13 who do not exercise, who need support in starting exercise, who have slight difficulties exercising (such as clumsiness), and for those who need exercise clubs for weight management.
The aim is to inspire children and families to start exercising in their free time and find their own sport. Clubs can be found in Oulu, Haukipudas, and Kiiminki. More information on applied exercise.
