Oulu Days production funding open for applications 19.2.-2.4.2024

Oulu Days is inviting event organizers and other actors to provide program for the festival, which will be held on 6.–8.9.2024.

Applications and event proposals must be submitted by noon 12.00 on April 2, 2024. The proposals must be written in Finnish or English. The city of Oulu's different organization units cannot apply for financial support. We will contact the selected event organizers and performances by the end of April 2024. More detailed instructions for event organizers and the application form can be found on the Oulu Days website. Oulu Days can acquire selected events or performances or support the event by lending facilities and equipment.

Oulu's oldest cultural event offers unique, free-of-charge, Oulu-based experiences every year. Last year, the funding helped to organize program, for example, in service homes and several neighborhoods around the city. Events can apply for funding of 100–5000 euros and performances 100–500 euros. In addition, some events can be supported by providing facilities and lending small equipment.

Oulu Days’ jury decides on the acquired events and the recipients of other kinds of support. The jury’s selections will take into account the distribution of the Oulu Days program evenly throughout the city, new types of event content, different visitor groups. The jury consists of experts from various fields in the city of Oulu. The jury reserves the right to determine the amount of the funding granted. Oulu Days acquires program for the festival, the funding we provide is not a grant.

You can also register for the Oulu Days program without funding. If the event does not need funding, you can register it as part of the Oulu Days program directly through the Mun Oulu event calendar – you just have to add the event to the Oulu Days program in the calendar. Events registered through the calendar will be included in the Oulu Days program and joint marketing in August.

Welcome to Oulu festival is calling for contributors in Mannerheim Park

 Welcome to Oulu festival will take place on 6.9.2024 in Mannerheim Park at 13.00-18.00. The festival showcases local actors, organizations, hobby opportunities, and various services provided by the city of Oulu to new Oulu residents who have recently moved to the city. On the festival stage you will see Oulu-based performers and diverse culture. Welcome to Oulu festival is organized as a part of Oulu Days.Through the Oulu Days production funding application, you can also apply to be a performer at the Welcome to Oulu festival.

The festival is also looking for Oulu-based cultural actors, organizations and various departments of the City of Oulu to showcase their activities. Mannerheim Park offers opportunities for various kinds of presentations and the organization of participatory activities: tents will be set up in the area and various demonstrations, competitions, and experiments are possible. The call for actors is open until 7.8.2024. 

The city of Oulu is responsible for the overall arrangements of Oulu Days.
