Housing Fair in Oulu 2025: next year’s fair will bring vitality to the city
The next Housing Fair is held in Oulu next summer on July 18 – August 17, 2025. The exhibition area will be finished slightly ahead of schedule. In a year’s time, the exceptionally bustling event summer of Oulu will attract a large number of domestic tourists.
What makes the location of Oulu’s exhibition area special is its nearness to a centre of a large city. The exhibition area is split into two sectors and connected by a new pedestrian bridge that will be built in the river delta. The main entrance to the Fair will be built in Hartaanselänranta. Visitors will pass over to the residential area in Lehtokylä over the Hartaansilta Bridge.
The city’s preparation for the summer is a shared effort of multiple operators. Dozens of Northern Finnish operators are participating from construction companies to restaurant businesses.
“The summers of Oulu are normally full of activities and events, but we will especially be spoiled in the summer of 2025. Oulu will be very attractive to domestic tourists for multiple reasons. On top of the Housing Fair, the Kuninkuusravit Harness Racing Championships and other event weekends offer a vast amount of entertainment to tourists – and the citizens of Oulu of course. It will be a true super summer of events! The summer of 2025 will also be great practice for the upcoming European Capital of Culture year in 2026”, rejoices the Project Director of Oulu’s Fair Team Hanna Mattila.
The Housing Fair is a great opportunity for Northern Finnish businesses to present their operations. The Fair brings together a large number of Finnish people interested in housing, renovation and decorating. The Housing Fairs of Finland is responsible for the commercial opportunities of businesses at the Housing Fair.
The visibility and flow of customers that the Housing Fairs have brought have contributed to economic growth in the organizing regions and their businesses.
“Of course, the travelers and fair guests are a significant flow of customers brought by the Housing Fair. However, the employees of those dozens of businesses who spend the fair month in Oulu will also be using the city’s and region’s services”, Mattila reminds.
