Free of charge Park Lunches in three parks in the coming summer – we are looking for volunteers

The city of Oulu organizes Park Lunches for under 18-year-olds in three different parks as they did last year. Children and young people are offered lunch as well as games, sports and other activities in Höyhtyä, Kaijonharju and Rajakylä on Mondays to Fridays from June 9 – July 18.
Parks and schedules:
Rajakylä Central Playground
Kaijonharju Ilmarinen Park Playground
Höyhtyä Central Playground
Free of charge programming is organized in the parks, such as outdoor games and art exercises from 10.00–11.00. Lunch is served at 11.00.
See the parks on the map on the Park Lunches website.
One daily meal is offered
Lunches and activities are free of charge, and you do not have to register beforehand. The child must bring a dish, cutlery and a drink. The food can be eaten at the park or taken home in a container. If there is excess food, it will be served to be taken home to avoid food waste. For this, you will need to bring your own container.
Guardians are responsible for the children participating in the events.
One alternating meal is offered every day, so all dietary restrictions cannot be considered. More detailed programming and menus along with their dietary information are updated on the Park Lunches Instagram account: @puistoruokailuoulu.
We need partners and volunteers
The city is in need of partners and volunteers to organize the Park Lunches and other activities. Private individuals are needed for tasks such as food distribution, organizing and human contact. Tasks do not require any special skills, you will be taught what to do. You may offer to help according to your schedule, only on some days or even for the whole season. Find the link to the registration form at the bottom of the Park Lunches page.
