The city of Oulu's administration condemns violent acts

The events of the last few days in Oulu have been exceptional and sad. A stabbing took place in the Shopping Centre Valkea on Thursday evening June 13, 2024. The victim of the attack was a child, only 12 years old. On the same evening, an adult man was killed in a stabbing in Meri-Toppila. As far as is known, there is no connection between these attacks.

"I believe that Oulu is still a safe city to live in and visit. The city of Oulu does not approve of violence in any form, and I personally do not accept violence either", the Mayor of Oulu Ari Alatossava states.

"I offer my sincerest condolences to the families and friends on behalf of myself and the city of Oulu."
