Turvaa tenaville Event
Preschool children participate in the annual Turvaa tenaville (fin. safety for children) event according to the preschool curriculum. The safety-related event is arranged in Oulu Hall in September or October, the specific schedule is announced to the daycare centres in the beginning of the fall term.
A two-hour guided tour is offered to preschool groups led by an event guide. Event organizers will build various sights and interesting experiences in Oulu Hall. Among other things, the children may investigate a police car, a fire engine, an ambulance and snow ploughing equipment. During the event, the children may test fingerprinting and moving in rooms full of smoke. There are traffic-related activities, guidance on how to make emergency calls and instructions for being lost. There will also be guidance for using a cycling helmet.

Transportation to the event is free of charge for the participating centres.
The event organizers will schedule the preschool groups that signed up for the event for either the morning or evening events; normal preschool times may deviate from the usual schedule on the event day. Confirmation of the event’s participation date and transportation schedules will be delivered to the daycare centre about two (2) weeks before the event.
