Oulu’s 2024 Participatory Budgeting implementations are nearly complete – new ideas for another 240 000 € will be collected next year

Implementations of the winning proposals of the 2024 Participatory Budgeting are nearly finished. In May, the citizens of Oulu voted for 33 different proposals to be implemented to promote the wellbeing and comfort of citizens.  

This year, the citizens chose proposals in the fields of outdoor exercise and sports, events, hobby activities and environment.

New ideas will be collected in January 

Participatory Budgeting in Oulu will launch again next year with idea collection. In 2025, a budget of 240 000 € will again be used to implement the ideas of Oulu’s citizens. 

Next year’s idea collection will begin on Monday January 13 and will last for two weeks until January 26. You may send in your ideas to promote wellbeing and comfort in Oulu on the Osallistu Oulu website.  

The website includes all ideas offered in 2021–2024 and the responses the city has written to each idea. You will also find information about all votes and implementations from along the years.  

The goal of Participatory Budgeting is to increase the influencing and participating opportunities of citizens and increase dialogue between the citizens and the city.
