Niko Mikkola will bring the Stanley Cup to Rotuaari on August 4

A brand-new Stanley Cup winner, ice hockey player from Oulu Niko Mikkola and the Stanley Cup trophy will both arrive in Oulu on Sunday August 4, 2024. A public event will be held at Rotuaari from 14.30–16.30. First, Niko Mikkola will be interviewed on the Rotuaari stage and afterwards, there will be an opportunity to take photos and get autographs. A DJ will play themed ice hockey classics at the event.  

Niko Mikkola plays in the NHL for the Florida Panthers and won the Stanley Cup in 2024. He also played in Finland’s winning team in the 2019 Ice Hockey World Championship. 

Mikkola began his career at 4 years old in the Kiiminki Kiekko-Pojat. When he was 10, he transferred to Oulun Kärpät. Mikkola has played in the Finnish league for KalPa and Tappara. He has played in North America starting from 2018.
