The new composition of the Oulu Youth Council will be elected in the Youth Election on November 4–15
Oulu Youth Council ONE’s two-year term is coming to an end at the end of this year. The new composition of the Council will be chosen in the Youth Election on November 4–15. 24 young people will be elected to the Youth Council as members, and six as deputy members.
Applications for the Youth Council’s next two-year term were open during September, and more applications came than ever before. This year there were 54 applicants between ages 14–19 living or studying in Oulu.
This year, 14-year-old people could apply. The age limit was 15–19 years before. See the youth candidates in the Oulu Youth Council’s Candidate Gallery (in Finnish).
The Youth Election will be held as an online election on November 4–15, 2024. All 13–19-year-old citizens of Oulu and students in Oulu are entitled to vote. Voting is carried out primarily through your education institution. If the voter is not a student, they can vote with the Byström One-Stop Guidance Centre’s information and guidance services (Hallituskatu 5 A). The voting period ends on Friday November 15 at 12.00.
The results of the vote will be published on Friday November 15 at 18.00 on the Nourten Oulu social media channels (Instagram and Facebook), as well as on the Nuorten Oulu website’s Youth Election page.
The new Youth Council will start their two-year term in January 2025. The Youth Council’s organization meeting will be held in connection with the group camp. New members will be trained for Youth Council activities.
