Citizens' Independence Day Celebration

Let's Independence Day together

Independence Day will be celebrated in traditional festive atmosphere at the Citizens' Independence Day Celebration held in the Madetoja Hall of the Oulu Music Centre on Friday, December 6, at 1 p.m.

This year’s program features Oulu Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eero Lehtimäki, Soma Ensemble, the girls’ choir from Madetoja Music High School, and the 3rd grade music class from Teuvo Pakkala School.

Doors open at 11:45 a.m., with celebratory coffee service beginning at 12 noon.

The celebration begins at 1 p.m. in Madetoja Hall.

Keynote speaker: Marja-Leena Kemppainen, municipal councilor, Christian Democrats (KD), Chair of the Christian Democrat Council Group in Oulu

The celebration will last approximately one hour.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

The civic celebration is organized by the Oulu City Council.
