Independence Day
Let’s light up Finland in shades of blue and white
Illuminate your home, workplace, or a special place in blue and white in honor of Independence Day from December 5 at 6:00 PM to December 7 at 9:00 AM.
You can also place two candles in your window on December 6 at 6:00 PM.
Let’s raise the flags on Independence Day
In traditional fashion, Independence Day is a flag-flying day. Festive flag-raising will take place throughout the city from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Let’s enjoy coffee in honor of Finland on the eve of Independence Day
On the eve of Independence Day, December 5, the city encourages people to enjoy a blue-and-white coffee moment with loved ones at 2:00 PM. The table doesn’t need to be fancy, nor the atmosphere formal—the shared moment is what matters most.
