Financial Support for Private Daycare
You may choose either a service voucher or Kela’s private day care allowance if you are applying for a daycare place for your child in a private daycare centre or a private family day care provider.
Service Vouchers
Service vouchers are a way to support local residents in the use of private daycare facilities. If a family applies for a service voucher, they cannot simultaneously receive Kela’s private day care allowance. Those who have received a service voucher cannot simultaneously use open early education services.
The value of the service voucher is based on income. The value is calculated based on the same income limits as with municipal daycare. Sibling discounts are also granted according to early childhood education and care client fee legislation. If the early childhood care facility’s fees exceed the value of the service voucher, the family pays the rest.

Private Day Care Allowance
You do not have to apply for a service voucher with any separate form. When a family applies for a place in private daycare, service vouchers are granted based on the application and when the family has received the granted daycare place. Once the place has been granted, please fill in your income declaration in eVaka.
If you cannot declare your income electronically, you may deliver the paper forms below to the early childhood education and care client fee team:
