Cooperation between pre-primary education and primary education is in a new situation, as pre-primary education began its operations in the school building in August. Our goal is to support children's individual learning path at the transition stage between preschool and primary education. The common spaces enable natural interaction with the school. The school's large yard, sports hall and surrounding forest enable a wide range of sports.
We follow the preschool curriculum of the City of Oulu.
Our daycare centre is located in a beautiful rural landscape in Yli-Ii. Nature is all around us. Our daycare centre operates in three different buildings: Ants (3–5 years old), Vekarat ( Extended opening hours group and 0–3 year olds) and preschool. Preschoolers are in the premises of Yli-Ii school. Our area is a safe environment for children to grow up in. Our strength is genuine encounters between families and children.
Our daycare centre focuses on strong small group activities, versatile indoor and outdoor exercise, a common learning path for 5–8-year-olds and Steam pedagogy.
We spend a lot of time outdoors and create many kinds of renewing learning environments outdoors and indoors. The surrounding nature and large yard areas are in use. We explore and wonder together and in a child-oriented way.
We follow the City of Oulu's early childhood education plan in our operations.
