Effects of the VAT change in libraries

The value added tax 24% will increase to 25.5% on Monday, 1.9.2024. Due to the change, online payment of library fees in the OUTI Web Library will not be possible from 21.00 on Saturday, 31.8.  

The Pekuri Library will not accept payments on Sunday, 1.9. and therefore, we recommend printing and copying on other opening days. The Pekuri Library will otherwise be open as usual 10–15, in accordance with summer opening hours. Payment of library fees in the web library and at the libraries will be possible again from the morning of Monday, 2.9., once the necessary changes to the systems have been made. 

The change in the value added tax rate does not affect the library’s late fees or fines. The VAT change will only apply to additional library products such as tote bags and copy cards.
