Accessibility
The closest disabled parking spaces are located near the Art Museum, approximately 100 meters from the Open-Air Theatre. Arriving closer to the theatre by car should be discussed with the event organizer. Parking in the immediate surroundings of the theatre is not permitted, but picking up and dropping off people is usually possible on the pedestrian routes while respecting pedestrian traffic and being careful.
A limited number of wheelchairs can be placed in the audience stands. Wheelchair tickets must be reserved beforehand from the event’s ticket sale. Wheelchairs will be placed in front of the first row. If the disabled visitor is accompanied by an assistant, the assistant must purchase their own ticket unless the event organizer rules otherwise. With appropriate official permits, the assistant can enter without a charge. The theatre includes an accessible toilet. There is no induction loop in the stand.

Hupisaari Open-Air Theatre principles
The goal of the Hupisaari Open-Air Theatre is to offer citizens and travelers diverse performance art. The theatre’s period of activity is primarily 30.4.–30.9. Summertime event organizers are chosen in August-September of the previous year based on applications. The application period is usually announced in August.
The goal is to give as many organizers as possible a chance to carry out their show, concert or event at the theatre. Therefore, performances and events come first, and practice and training sessions should primarily be arranged elsewhere.
A designer from Event Services will create a booking calendar based on the applications. The Event and Area Director will make the last decisions about the performance schedule of the period of activity. It is possible to hold practice and training sessions at the theatre outside performance times. Practice times will be agreed on with other event organizers.
The goal is to ensure a varied offering of theatre, music and different events at the Hupisaari Open-Air Theatre organized by amateurs and professionals. Hupisaari Open-Air Theatre wants to make the emergence of culture actors from Oulu possible, according to the themes of the European Capital of Culture year.
