Arrival at the City Hall
The Oulu City Hall is located at the address Kirkkokatu 2A, 90100 Oulu, map link
The nearest bus stops are along Torikatu (Kaupungintalo P, Kaupungintalo E and Kaupungintalo E Lähi). See the public transport schedules on the Oulu Regional Transport’s website.
When arriving by car, you may utilize the parking areas and parking halls of the city centre.
When arriving by bicycle, there are bicycle stands on the Asemakatu/Plaanaoja side of the City Hall.
The City Hall’s main entrance is on the Kirkkokatu side of the City Hall. Entrance into the exhibition spaces is located on the Hallituskatu side of the City Hall.
Accessibility of the City Hall
Parking for mobility impaired
There is one parking space for mobility impaired people on Hallituskatu. There is an accessible entrance right next to the parking space.
Accessible entrance
The accessible entrance is located on the Hallituskatu side of the City Hall. There is a button that opens the door. If the door does not open, please press the info buzzer. Instructions for the accessible entrance are presented in Finnish, English and Braille.
Accessible entry to different floors
The accessible entrance takes you to the City Hall’s ground floor (Floor 0). There are raised floor markers which lead visibility impaired people towards the elevator. The elevator doors are 90 cm wide.
Raised floor markers
The City Hall’s first floor includes the entrance hall, meeting rooms and the Council Chamber foyer, the Council Chamber and the Board Room. The elevator opens into the first-floor entrance hall and raised floor markers will lead you toward different facilities.
The coat check in the entrance hall is not fully accessible.
Diagonal door sills
The diagonal door sills located in the facilities are 20 mm high at most. The door sill located in the first floor’s Council Chamber entrance is pictured here. The City Hall’s second floor includes the banquet hall and its foyer as well as a lobby with door sills that are 20 mm high at most.
Ground floor accessible toilet
An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor (Floor 0) on the right, near the accessible entrance. The ground floor accessible toilet is used from the left. The toilet door is not automatic.
First floor accessible toilet
The first-floor accessible toilet is located at the end of the corridor on the right from the elevators. The first-floor accessible toilet can be used from both left and right. The toilet door is not automatic.
During the opening ceremony week, public are welcome to visit:
The ground floor exhibition facilities, cafeteria and public toilets
First floor’s entrance hall, Council Chamber foyer, Council Chamber, Board Room, meeting rooms and public toilets
Second floor’s lobby, banquet hall foyer and the banquet hall
You cannot enter the first floor from the ground floor, with the exception of accessible entry via elevator. Otherwise, you must enter the first floor by using the first-floor entrance outside. You may enter the first and second floor via stairs. The stairs from the first floor are located near the Council Chamber foyer.
The City Hall’s main entrance includes a self-service coat check which can be utilized by event attendees. The coat check will be staffed during some events; Week of the Elderly celebrations on Friday October 11 at 11.30–15.15, the dance on Friday at 18.30–21.00, and Susiteetti LIVE on Saturday October 12 at 18.30–23.00.
